Pink Alpaca Top & Shawl Set

(Special Order)

This project started out as a bustier for the Tecumseh Art Bra Auction to benefit breast cancer. It turned out more like a top but the organizers were still very pleased with the results.

The fabric was hand woven in an overshot pattern. White yarn that is 80% alpaca and 20% silk was used for the warp and tabby weave. Pink rayon was used for the pattern weave. The result is a soft fabric that shines! The sewing of this item was just about as difficult as the weaving. The top is lined, underlined and has boning in the lining. I think it is one of my favorite handwoven items! Click on one of the photos to see larger versions of them.

Beige Top And Skirt

This outfit was handwoven for a special customer to wear while showing her llama in the 2005 Celibrity Futurity. The top is woven with a combination of 60% alpaca and 40% llama. The skirt is a blend of the same hand woven fabric and a fine wool.

This outfit was actually made for me! I wore it to the 2004 AOBA Nationals gala dinner. Although I am not selling the original I can make this item again for you! The top on this set is hand woven of 90% alpaca and 10% silk. The skirt is a mix of handwoven alpaca and satin.

The skirt pictured is actually knee length. The model that I used for photographing was short.

This Top and Shawl set was hand woven using a special handspun alpaca blend. The blend has a subtle multicolored rainbow effect mixing with the black alpaca..
